Google Is Not Apple

     Google is not Apple and they need to stop it.

   Google launched the Pixel 9 series with the base model starting at 799 USD, bringing it in line with the iPhone 15 and Samsung S24 launch prices. However, at least Samsung has the decency to provide a telephoto camera and DEX support for 799 while Apple is Apple and they know they could get away with selling their midranges to teens and get away with it. But Google is Google. They can't capture the imaginations of GenZers, not even Samsung can do that. 

    Google does not have the brand recognition to call for these high prices that they are asking. They have to fight Samsung on features, fight Apple on their teen following, and fight themselves from bad decisions making. If Google made the Pixel 9 with a telephoto sensor, or included Gemeni advanced online free for lifetime (like Photos on the Pixel 1) then 799 would be a decent deal. But 799 for an iPhone wannabe. Absolutely not.
