Finally!!! 3d Design on Android

Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special review!

Finally!!! I found it. As many of you know, I’ve been on the hunt for a non-game app that works offline and fully utilizes the power of my Galaxy S24 Ultra—and I finally found one! I’ve often been critical of how most phone apps are basically web portals that don’t tap into the full processing potential of your $1000 device, but this app is different.

The app I’m talking about is Room Planner, and it’s fantastic. I wanted an application to create a 3D representation of the GNN studio from SSALTW, and this one did the job perfectly—and offline, too! Unlike basic floor planners, Room Planner offers detailed, good-looking 3D visuals. Here’s what you need to know: it’s a hefty app at around 600 MB, so make sure to download it over Wi-Fi unless you want to use up more than half a gig of mobile data. Fortunately, it seems to download all assets for offline use, so you can build your rooms in full 3D without needing an internet connection.

Now, there is a premium version (and the pricing is a bit crazy), but the free version works just fine. You can create up to 10 rooms in various styles, and the database includes electronics, whiteboards, flooring, and furniture. You can design in both 2D and 3D modes, though be warned that 3D building uses a lot of RAM. I tried using it with YouTube running in PiP (Picture-in-Picture) mode, in the heat, and it lagged a bit, but on its own, the app runs smoothly. One thing I love is how it allows you to see exactly where you’re placing objects. The lighting simulation is impressive, too—it reflected realistically off the TV and whiteboard I was working with. You can even change ceiling and wall colors with ease.

There are a couple of downsides, though. Custom images for TV screens are locked behind a paywall, and it can be tricky to move smaller objects around. But overall, *Room Planner* is a fantastic app that I’ll definitely be enjoying.

God bless, and Tech Talk to you later!
