Hello, this is TheTechBoy with a special tutorial!
Sometimes, updates and data transfer issues can disrupt your PC, and you might encounter problems with your internet connection. If your laptop disconnects from the internet and requires a Microsoft account sign-in, but you can’t connect to the internet to sign in, follow these steps to resolve the issue. You will need two things: a LAN adapter (if your laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet port) and a mouse.
Steps to Fix the Issue:
1. Connect Your Laptop to the Internet:
- Use an Ethernet cable to connect your laptop directly to your router.
- Plug in your keyboard and mouse.
- This should restore your internet connection, allowing you to sign in to your Microsoft account.
2. Download the Necessary Drivers:
- Visit the HP support website and input your laptop's serial number (usually found at the bottom of the device or in the original packaging).
- A box will pop up where you can select your operating system and version. Choose the correct OS and version for your device.
- Navigate to the “Driver” section and look for “Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices.” Select the touchpad drivers.
- Next, go to “Driver-Network” and select the WLAN drivers.
- Click the download button and download the "Download Assistant" software. Run the software to install the drivers.
3. If the PC is in Setup Mode:
- Connect to the internet using the same method described above.
- Press `SHIFT + F10` to open the Command Prompt.
- Type `start msedge.exe` and press Enter to open Microsoft Edge.
- Navigate to the tutorial page using Edge, download the driver update software, and run it from there.
If you lose track of the download, you can type `C://` in Edge’s address bar to access your file system and locate the downloaded file. By following these steps, you should be able to restore your internet connection and resolve any driver-related issues on your laptop.
