TheTechBoy, March 12, 2025 If you have ever wanted to download a YouTube video safely on your phone without paying for premium, and to have access to the files for editing, this tutorial is for you. There are many programs that can do this, but they cost money on PC, while web-based downloaders are often ad-riddled. However, the open-source program, YTDL, now has a mobile application. Unfortunately, it is Android-only, as it is an APK in the app store, so iOS users will have to use another tool. Before starting, make sure Samsung’s auto-blocker is turned off and that your phone can install unknown apps. 1. Navigate to this link. It’s a GitHub repository, and click the blue download button. Next, find the APK on the release pages. It is complicated, so here is a direct link. 2. Open the file and install the app. Next, either search for your video in the search bar or use a direct link. Click the video and touch the icon that is a music note to download it as a podcast or the camera icon to download it as a video.
