This Is the BEST Feature on Android

TheTechBoy, November 14, 2025

There’s so much content on the Internet that sometimes you don’t even know what to read or watch. That’s why I like this feature on my Samsung device — and it should be supported on all Android devices, though I haven’t tested it. It’s the Google Play Store widget.

This widget can recommend movies and TV shows, not just from paid services or Google Play downloads, but from free platforms too. It has suggested movies like Sleepover or Saved by the Bell—stuff I actually enjoy. It also shows trending podcasts, shows, and sometimes even YouTube videos right on the home screen, and most of the time the recommendations are spot-on.

Its killer feature is definitely the sidebar. Tapping Read will show book recommendations in the Play Store (which aren’t always great, to be honest), but it also displays all your reading apps like Libby and Kindle in a clean, Pixel-themed bar at the bottom of the screen. It does the same for games—showing instant games and simple Play Store titles, but much cleaner than Samsung’s Gaming Hub. It even places all your games into a pseudo-folder right on the screen. The best feature, though, is undeniably the App Library button at the bottom. It shows all the apps you have, neatly grouped into folders based on their purpose, plus your most-used and recently added apps.

To add the widget, just find some free space on your home screen (it’s a large widget, and I’d recommend using a full screen if possible). Hold down on the home screen, tap Widgets, search for Play Store, and add the Google Play Store widget. It starts as a 4×3 widget, but to unlock all the features, drag it out as large as you can. If you use Google services on your phone, it gets even better, recommending more books and videos tailored for you. I especially like how it integrates with free streaming services like Pluto and Tubi and recommends shows from them — meaning I can actually watch the things it suggests. God bless And Tech Talk To You Later!!!!
