Mac Neo?

Wow, another Apple article for TheTechBoy Media—not normal for this Apple hater. Apple released the MacBook Neo, and it’s getting some controversy. The MacBook Neo is basically a budget option ($599 for the base model, $499 if you have an edu email address—which is easy to get without being in school). These are the specs people are talking about.

Apple A18 Pro chip

8GB RAM 256GB/512 SSD

Liquid Retina display 13.0-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display with IPS technology

One USB 3 (USB-C) One USB 2 (USB-C) port

3.5 mm headphone jack

Many are saying it’s a good deal for the price, while some have RAM concerns. Personally, I don’t know how to feel. The critics are correct that a Chromebook would most likely be better (the UI certainly is, as MacBooks are utter trash in some ways), though I feel that 8 GB of RAM should be OK for what we’re doing on our computers today—just basic tasks and browsing, sadly. I mean, they were more advanced in “The Clique” and “Sleepover” when the girls were writing the State of the Union and video chatting with each other on their Macs. The real concern is storage. 256 GB for $599 USD (and no Touch ID) doesn’t feel like that good of a deal, though it is good for a MacBook. I’m interested in seeing how the mobile chip compares with a used MacBook Air. What do y’all think? God Bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!
