Super Tiny Football is a game that was recommended on the Retro Bowl subreddit. It currently has 100k+ downloads on the Play Store with a 4.5-star rating, making it a top-ranked application in its category. The game includes all 32 NFL teams (unlicensed), a full 17-game season, and follows the regular NFL playoff rules: the #1 seed gets a bye, the top 7 teams make the playoffs, and there are the 4 divisions in each of the 2 conferences. The game is free with ads but if yiy want the game to work offline you have to use diamonds.

There is an easy, medium, and hard mode, plus quarter length options of 2 minutes, 2:30, and 3 minutes. However, the rich history from Retro Bowl does not transfer over. For example, there is no win-loss history for you as the coach, nor achievements for greatness — like scoring more than 50 points in a game, a perfect season, or 100% completion percentage. All those major milestones are glazed over.
Replay is only allowed on scoring plays and not on all plays or even big plays and gains in yardage. However, the gameplay is more realistic in some ways. The clock is always running, you can’t control the defense but they can make a defensive score, deep throws are possible provided you draft a good roster (players are ranked on a star system), and you can make trades for players using credits (coins you receive either by playing the game or paying) as well as other players on the roster.

The controls are kind of finicky. Throwing is easy, but changing friction is hard — you have to swipe around the back of the screen, and to ‘boost’ you swipe in front of the player. In my testing, the gameplay is not as responsive and not the best for running. Kicking is also difficult; with my kicker only making extra points and not field goals. I took some time to get the hang of it, causing my Texans to start the season 1-4 in close losses. But I proceeded to win the division and the AFC South at a 13-4 record and win the Super Tiny Bowl.

The next season I went 17-0 and repeated as champs.
The game also keeps track of the point differential of the regular season and your playoff seeding, but power rankings for teams are based on your star rating (not based on in-season performance). So despite my 2.5-star team going 17-0 and driving every team by an average point differential of 21, I was ranked towards the bottom. Also, while you receive a play-by-play and a game recap, you don’t receive a ‘box score.’

Unlike Retro Bowl, the graphics are more modern, and instead of 5 you get 4 saves.
Overall, Super Tiny Football offers a solid NFL structure and some realistic touches that Retro Bowl fans might enjoy trying. The modern look and extra save slots are nice improvements. However, the missing coach history, achievements, limited replays, and especially the finicky controls and kicking issues hold it back from feeling like a full replacement. If you’re looking for something new in the style of Retro Bowl and don’t mind working through the controls, it’s worth checking out — especially given its popularity and recommendation in the community. Just be ready for a bit of a learning curve and some missing depth in the long-term progression. Have you tried it? What was your experience with the Texans or another team?
Game. God bless and tech talk to you later!!
