Gemini Gets Best Feature Yet

Google has rolled out a major new feature for the Gemini app that allows users to create downloadable files straight from a simple prompt. Announced on April 29, 2026, by Group Product Manager Maryam Sanglaji, the update enables Gemini to generate a variety of file formats directly in the chat. Users no longer need to copy, paste, and reformat content — they can move from idea to finished file without leaving the app.
Supported formats include: Google Workspace files (Docs, Sheets, Slides)- Microsoft Word (.docx) and Excel (.xlsx)- PDF- CSV- LaTeX- Plain Text (.txt)- Rich Text Format (.rtf)- Markdown (.md) Once created, most files can be downloaded directly to your device or exported to Google Drive. The feature is now available to all Gemini app users globally. To use it, simply open the Gemini app and describe the file you need in your prompt. This marks the latest step in Google’s effort to make Gemini a more practical productivity tool.
I think this is a great addition. Usually when you have to copy and paste Ai text it hits you weird formatting errors. Has ** ** all over text, and this new feature will make your life much more productive. God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!
