Samsung A17 vs Motorola Moto G 2025
Two of the largest budget phone companies, Samsung and Motorola, have the Galaxy A17 and the Motorola G 2025, which were released in January 2025. Both are listed at around $160, though carrier deals may vary. I’ll be comparing them at their set price rather than any specific deal. So, what does $160 get you? With Motorola, you get a 6.7-inch display, 4 GB of RAM, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300, and either 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, with the unlocked version usually coming with 128 GB.

On the Samsung side, the A17 comes with 128 GB of storage, an Exynos 1330 octa-core processor, and 4 GB of RAM. Right off the bat, both phones are going to be laggy and probably won’t last long. Four gigabytes of RAM is not going to hold up well, but Samsung will give you more update support if you keep the phone for more than two years. Internally, both devices support microSD cards, but the Motorola still has a headphone jack. Both phones have a 5,000 mAh battery, though Motorola charges faster at 30 watts compared with Samsung’s 25 watts. Samsung’s Exynos chip is faster too, with higher Geekbench and AnTuTu scores, showing that both phones are not great for gaming, keeping lots of tabs open, or running multiple apps. Still, Samsung should feel faster and stay updated a little better than the Motorola.

Lastly, for cameras, Samsung sports a 50 MP main sensor and a 13 MP selfie camera, both recording at 1080p at 30 frames per second, plus a 5 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro camera. Motorola has similar specs but without the ultrawide camera and with a 16 MP selfie camera. Both are middling, with no zoom and no 4K recording, but Samsung takes the win here as well overall. God bless, and Tech Talk To You Later.
