Hello everyone and welcome to TheTechBoy Take Five July 17th edition with the top THREE headlines of the week. All is right in the world of Apple as sadly 12% of new iPhone buyers switched from Android. “Early years saw significant platform switching as Apple introduced iPhones to the US mobile carriers one-by-one. In the past few years, the rate of switching from Android to iPhone settled at 11-15% of new iPhone buyers, according to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP),” per Apple World Today.

In Samsung news, Samsung has launched its premium, AI-powered portable projector, The Freestyle+, globally for $1,199.99. This latest iteration brings a major hardware upgrade, delivering 430 ISO Lumens to nearly double the brightness of its predecessor. Its standout feature is AI OptiScreen technology, which automatically handles 3D keystone correction, real-time focus, and wall color calibration so users can just point and play on any surface. Additionally, the device functions as a total standalone hub with built-in 360-degree audio, native streaming apps, and cloud gaming via the Samsung Gaming Hub.

Good grief, the annoying and somehow relevant EU is forcing American tech companies to open up America’s operating system Android to give access to European AI, making it easier to use 3rd party AI assistants on device, which is fine, but the worst part is that Google has to share THEIR search data with OTHER failing search engines. Imagine if Trader Joe’s was forced to share its sales data with Whole Foods? According to the EU, who has SUCH great search engines such as Qwant, Mojeek, Ecosia, and other irrelevant search engines, half of which use other people’s tech why should Google help them out? Should Patrick Mahomes be required to give Geno Smith lessons to make the NFL better? Just utter ridiculousness from the EU once again.

Stay tuned for the other 2 headlines on the Pulse Podcast tomorrow!!. God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!
