Samsung just dropped a more affordable 14-inch Galaxy Book6. It starts at $799, claims up to 25 hours of battery life, and is clearly aimed at everyday Windows users who want Galaxy ecosystem features without paying flagship money.The new model expands the Galaxy Book6 family that launched earlier this year. Instead of the higher-end Core Ultra or Snapdragon configurations, this version uses Intel Core 3 and Core 5 processors from the efficiency-focused Series 3 (Wildcat Lake) lineup.
amsung is positioning it as an accessible everyday PC for web, documents, video calls, streaming, and light multitasking.“With the new Galaxy Book6, we wanted to make the Galaxy Book experience available for more people,” said Mincheol Lee, EVP and head of Galaxy Ecosystems at Samsung. “At a more accessible price, it brings together the everyday essentials users value.” The laptop keeps the Galaxy Book6 look: clean lines, a centered logo, 15.7 mm thickness, and 1.35 kg (about 2.97 lbs) weight. Dimensions are 313 x 221 x 15.7 mm. Colors are classic Gray and a new Violet Silver finish that Samsung is using on Galaxy Book for the first time. The 14-inch LCD is 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) in a 16:10 aspect ratio, rated at 350 nits with an anti-reflective coating. It is not the brighter AMOLED panel found on the Pro and Ultra models. The keyboard is a non-backlit “Pro keyboard,” and the trackpad is a standard clickpad.
Configs include:- Intel Core 3 or Core 5 processor- Intel Graphics plus an Intel NPU rated up to 15 TOPS- 8 GB or 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM- 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB PCIe SSD. The 61.2 Wh battery is rated for up to 25 hours. A 45W USB-C charger is said to deliver about 33% in 30 minutes. Ports are practical for a thin 14-inch machine: two USB-C ports (same functionality on both), one USB-A, HDMI 1.4 (4K@30), and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Wireless is Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. Speakers are stereo with Dolby Atmos. The webcam is 1080p. Samsung is leaning on software to differentiate the cheaper Book6. Features include AI Select (select on-screen content for info or background removal), Note Assist for summaries, Quick Share, Storage Share, Multi Control (one keyboard/mouse across Galaxy devices), Second Screen with a Galaxy Tab, Nearby Devices, and Link to Windows. These require a Samsung account and compatible phones or tablets. Availability of specific AI features can vary by region and language.
The laptop starts at $799 for the base 8 GB / 256 GB configuration. Higher RAM and storage options cost more. Samsung says it is available first in select markets, with more regions to follow. Some reports indicate U.S. availability through Samsung.com and Amazon around October 5. Specs, colors, and features can differ by country.Samsung Care+ is offered as an optional protection plan.This is the most approachable Galaxy Book6 yet: thinner on the premium display and keyboard extras, stronger on claimed battery life, ports, and Galaxy phone/tablet integration. For students, commuters, and anyone already in Samsung’s ecosystem, it is the first time the current Book6 design language has come in under $1,000.
