Samsung is mocking Apple: this time not for a notch or lack of a headphone jack, but for the iPhone Duo “crackgate.” Apple’s first-ever folding phone that’s meant to be unfolded is reportedly cracking, while Samsung, with 8 years of experience, is just mocking them. Now I personally haven’t gotten to hold an iPhone Duo; in fact, Apple doesn’t even know if they will be able to fulfill orders before Christmas, so I can’t say if it feels durable or not. I have gone hands-on with the Z Fold 8 and the 8 Ultra, and it felt fine to me.

Going back to Samsung, One UI 9 has hit other devices, including my very own S24 Ultra. Yes, the battery life is still bad; that’s a given. But here are some of the cool features that you do get to have despite not getting the fuller software suite the S26 Ultra gets. Per Android Police, “The S24 got Call Brief, custom Now Brief cards, My FanCam.” My FanCam is the coolest feature, which allows you to track someone in a video. In my limited testing, they have to be in frame, so people in the background are not detected as much. The feature Samsung leaves out is the one I need most, which is USB webcam mode. I use my phone as a webcam with DroidCam/Camo, but it is so laggy sometimes that having it built-in like the Motorola Razr I tested would be a lifesaver.

If you haven’t already, check out thetechboy.org/pulse. It’s our vibe video website that shows transcripts for each episode of our podcast, Pulse: The Heartbeat of America, which saddens me because Claude is being even more restrictive than ever before. Claude is banning people from recreating games that exist, which I mean, are there any new video game ideas other than super lofty ones? And you will be banned for being “too mean” to Claude, as well as a secret watermark added to Claude-outputted text, which is just insufferable. God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!!
