SHOCK and AWE. That can be described as my reaction yesterday when I saw the coolest thing ever—a clear display of American ingenuity: Tesla’s “flying car.”

More reactions to come on The Pulse podcast tomorrow featuring our FIRST EVER Instagram Live, but this might be the coolest thing added to a car since cruise control and self-driving. But how exactly does it work? Well, I will be doing a full deep dive into it, but essentially it uses SpaceX-designed cold-gas thrusters to make it look like it was flying for two seconds. While it was driving up the ramp, the thrusters started sucking down on it, essentially allowing it to grip the ramp. Now, this is obviously not street legal (can you imagine a 16-year-old hopping over cars on a busy highway?), but the increased suction could, as some are saying, increase grip when you take the car out to a track and smash racing records.

In other less cool tech news, the iPhone Duo pre-orders are out now. You can read about the Duo here as well as the first Googlebook reviews.

And for some reason, Sony revealed a nearly $6,000 Walkman. Yes, the Walkman still exists (as an Android-based MP3 player, not a cassette player) and the gold-plated handset is retailing for $5,900. Now, gold aside, what makes this special? Well, it features oxygen-free copper, over 30 hours of battery life, and a 5.5-inch screen. Now, I’m sure that the sound quality is amazing, but WHO IS THE MARKET for this tech? There might legitimately be more people who need a flying Tesla car that can do backflips than a $6,000, essentially second phone (you will still need a phone that is SIX TIMES CHEAPER) than this MP3 player. God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!!
