How To Disable Motion Photos on Your Samsung Galaxy Phone in Seconds: And Why You Should Not

TheTechBoy, July 17, 2024
Hey everyone, TheTechBoy here! Today’s post tackles a common question for Samsung Galaxy users: how to disable Motion Photos.
Motion photo icon eith other icons

Motion Photos capture a short video clip alongside your still image, adding a touch of life to your memories. However, they might not be for everyone, and luckily, disabling them is a breeze.
Here’s a quick guide:
1. Launch the Camera App:
Open the default Camera app on your Samsung Galaxy phone. This is where the magic happens!
2. Check the Camera Mode:
This step is crucial. Motion Photos are, unfortunately, not available in high-resolution modes like 50MP, 64MP, or 200MP. So, before you proceed, make sure you’re not in one of these modes. If you are, simply switch to a lower resolution mode like 12MP.
3. Find the Motion Photo Icon:
Look for an icon that resembles a tiny video player at the top of your screen. This icon usually sits alongside other camera options like flash and zoom.
4. Turn it Off!:
Tap the Motion Photo icon once. If it’s yellow, that means the feature is currently active. Tap it again to deactivate it, and you’re good to go! Now your photos will be captured as regular still images.

Don’t do this though. Motion photo captures a few seconds before the image. If you missed something important you can go back in time and retrieve it. This is why Samsung should add this to other modes!!!
God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!
